A powerful award winning documentary on refugees will set the theme of unity for this year’s fast approaching Thornton Heath’s arts week.
Events will include a poetry evening hosted by Well Versed Ink, Art in the Park workshops, music at the station, a discussion on the future of arts in the area and an evening of film, photography, music and conversation set around a showing of the ‘Forgotten Children’ which follows refugee orphans in Europe who face violence, exploitation and prison.
This event will set the scene for the weeks theme of creating a safe and welcoming space for migrants and refugees in Thornton Heath.
The event runs from July 17 to 22. Now in its fourth year the week will feature
a range of artistic activity showcasing the talent in our area at a number of local venues including Scratchley Hall, Thornton Heath station and local parks. As ever the event is open to all to attend and contribute to.
