Wheels for Well-being, was the chosen charity at the recent GAM seven-a-side football tournament, played at Stamford Bridge the home of Chelsea Football Club.
The charity uses the Croydon Arena, as one of its sites in south London, where people of all abilities can enjoy safe riding. However, the main purpose of the charity is to remove barriers for people with disabilities to enable them to enjoy the experience of cycling.
Sixteen organisations were involved in this month’s event raising over £16,000.
The charity has many special purpose bikes that are designed specifically for a wide range of disabilities, and is enjoyed by so many.
Volunteer Peter Lawrence from Thornton Heath said: “It was also a fantastic experience. A great morning was had, and a lot of money was raised.”
